Smith finished ninth in the NASCAR Cup Series Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway on Sunday.

The No. 38 team used fuel strategy to get the strong finish, running long under a late green-flag run and then taking two tires under the next caution period. Now, the Cup Series heads to Michigan, where Smith's average finish of 7.0 is second-highest of all current full-time drivers.
