Zane Smith: Strong run in Nashville

Rotowire9 days ago

Smith finished ninth in the NASCAR Cup Series Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway on Sunday.

Analysis:

Smith would lead 18 laps on Sunday, giving him back-to-back races with double-digit laps led for the first time in his Cup Series career. In fact, these past two races are the first times that Smith has surpassed nine laps led in a race. The No. 38 team used fuel strategy to get the strong finish, running long under a late green-flag run and then taking two tires under the next caution period. Now, the Cup Series heads to Michigan, where Smith's average finish of 7.0 is second-highest of all current full-time drivers.
