The UFC added some box office clout to UFC 186 in Montreal, pitting former light heavyweight kingpin Quinton "Rampage" Jackson against Fabio Maldonado.
After three fights under the Bellator banner, Rampage returns against a man who will engage in his preferred kind of fight: a sadistic game of fist-chicken, where both men huck anvils at one another until someone loses consciousness.
A loser of three in a row in the UFC, Rampage had a messy split with the company in 2013. He quickly racked up three victories in Bellator's relatively shallow 205-pound division over a year and a half span, before officially returning to the Zuffa fold at the end of 2014.
Maldonado is an all-action fighter with a 5-3 UFC record and a penchant for engaging in fire-fights. The 34-year-old Brazilian dispatched Hans Stringer via second-round TKO at UFC 179 in October.
Much will be made of Rampage's contract situation leading up to this fight, as Bellator president Scott Coker maintains Jackson is still under contract with the promotion.
