Report: UFC Charlotte draws record-low overnight ratings
Even with a main card boasting two first-round finishes and a three-round slugfest, UFC on FOX 27 didn't draw many eyeballs.
Saturday's bill in Charlotte - where Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza dispatched Derek Brunson in the main event - pulled in 1,593,000 viewers and a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 age bracket, the lowest overnight figures of any UFC card ever broadcast on the network, according to MMA Fighting's Dave Meltzer.
The numbers reportedly marked a 21-percent decrease from last January's UFC on FOX 23 and a 35-percent drop from the card broadcast on the network the previous year. Last July's UFC on FOX 25 - headlined by middleweights Chris Weidman and Kelvin Gastelum - owned the previous record low of 1.64 million viewers.
The promotion's negotiation period with FOX expires at the end of the year.
