The last two challengers for the strawweight crown will battle to keep their positions atop the division.

No. 1-ranked Claudia Gadelha has been booked to fight No. 2-ranked Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 212 in Rio de Janeiro on June 3.

The UFC announced the bout Monday.

Gadelha is coming off a unanimous decision win against Cortney Casey, which also took place in her home country of Brazil. She is 3-2 in the UFC, with both of her losses coming at the hands of strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk. In their second meeting last July, Gadelha came out on the wrong end of a five-round unanimous decision.

Also looking to get another shot at Jedrzejczyk is her fellow Polish star Kowalkiewicz. The two went five rounds at UFC 205 in front of a packed Madison Square Garden arena last November, with Jedrzejczyk winning a unanimous decision. That marked the first loss of Kowalkiewicz's professional MMA career.

UFC 212 currently only has one other fight scheduled, a headlining title unification bout between featherweight champion Jose Aldo and interim champion Max Holloway.
