As he moves up two weight classes for the second straight time, Conor McGregor is covering his bases.
In preparation for his welterweight rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202 on Aug. 20, McGregor, who typically fights at featherweight, took to Instagram to announce he's sparred 412 rounds...with middleweights:
For those who struggle with mental math, that's a 40-pound differential.
The accuracy of the count and the weight of his sparring partners is questionable, but McGregor is clearly focused on avenging his loss to Diaz, as he's structuring his camp according to his opponent for the first time.
