Alcides Escobar, already owner of an ALCS MVP and an inside-the-park home run, continued his outstanding postseason Wednesday with some fine defensive work.

The Kansas City Royals shortstop made an incredible bare-handed grab in the top of the eighth inning to nab a speedy New York Mets outfielder Juan Lagares at first.

Escobar's defensive wizardry got starter Johnny Cueto out of the eighth, allowing him to stay in the game for another inning, en route to the first complete game of his postseason career.

The Royals shortstop, meanwhile, continued his hot-hitting ways, collecting a pair of hits, including a tripe, and driving in two runs in Kansas City's 7-1 win.
