Hamilton, who last record a playoff hit in Game 7 of the 2011 World Series, dropped a single into shallow right field as he approached the league's all-time record for postseason futility.
Despite snapping the slump, Hamilton is tied with Marv Owen for the third-longest hitless streak in postseason history. Only Dan Wilson (42 at-bats) and Billy North (34 at-bats) were longer.
With the single, Hamilton is 1-for-12 (.083) during the series with four strikeouts.
