Brandon Phillips left Wednesday's game against the Kansas City Royals with inflammation in his right biceps tendon.
Phillips exited in the bottom of the eighth inning and was replaced at second base by Ivan De Jesus.
The 34-year-old three-time All-Star was hitting .284/.321/.695 with eight home runs, 43 RBIs and 17 stolen bases coming into the contest.
