Tigers, Al Alburquerque agree to 1-year contract

The Detroit Tigers avoided arbitration with right-hander Al Alburquerque by agreeing to a one-year contract, reports WAPT's Mike Perchick.

Alburquerque will earn $1.725 million in 2015.

The Tigers offered $1.375 million and Alburquerque requested $2.05 million when the two sides exchanged salary figures.

The 28-year-old posted a 2.51 ERA and 1.17 WHIP while collecting 17 holds.
