When Texas Rangers left-hander Matt Harrison underwent spinal fusion surgery in June, some feared the 29-year-old would never play professional baseball again.

Harrison, however, continues to make progress in his recovery and could even be back on the mound in March, according to Anthony Andro of FOX Sports.

"Everything feels good so far," Harrison said. "Each day has been good so far. Once I get loose everything feels good and the arm feels fresh."

Harrison has been throwing for roughly three weeks and recently started playing catch from 75 feet. Though a myriad of injuries have derailed his career – he's made just six starts since the beginning of 2013 – Harrison is no longer tentative with a ball in his hand.

"I've moved past thinking if this is going to hurt," said Harrison. "I look past that stuff now. I'm not worried about going to spring training and trying to make the team. I'm just focused on getting it right."

Over parts of seven seasons in the majors, Harrison owns a 4.15 ERA (107 ERA+) with a 1.40 WHIP across 100 starts and 32 relief appearances.
