It's always good to see professional athletes planning ahead for a life away from sport. Legendary Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, who has announced that this season, his 20th in the majors, will be his last, is already well on his way to a successful second career.
After announcing late last year that he would be starting his own publishing company, Jeter Publishing, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, Jeter wasted no time in making use of his new business venture. His first children's book, titled The Contract, is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com.
Here's Amazon's description of the book, a seemingly-autobiographical morality tale for youngsters, about working hard, not just on the field but in the classroom:

Jeter reportedly has two other books in the works, including a chronicle of his last big league season.
