Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Anthony Santander posted Islamophobic videos to his Instagram story following the United States' midterm election Tuesday.

Santander's stories, which have since been removed, showed content that claimed Sharia law would be coming to the U.S., while another video featured a Christian preacher who said there's "no such thing as kind Muslims."

"Baseball is for everyone, and the Jays have created an inclusive experience where all fans feel welcome at our ballpark," the team said in a statement Thursday. "Individual comments do not represent our organization's values and beliefs."

Santander has three years and over $57 million remaining on his heavily deferred contract.

The 32-year-old has played in just 54 games since signing a five-year, $92.5-million deal in January 2025. He missed all of 2026 due to injuries.
