The Athletics are bringing in Milwaukee Brewers executive Cam Castro to be their new general manager, sources told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Castro was the senior vice president of player development and performance for the World Series champions.
The 36-year-old will work under president of baseball operations Taylor Smith, whom the A's hired in October.
Castro had worked in the Brewers organization since 2019.
Brewers assistant GM Matt Kleine was also offered the Houston Astros' GM job but turned it down, a source told Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.
The Athletics missed the playoffs for a sixth straight year after finishing 64-98.
