Chicago Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson is expected to be sidelined for four-to-six weeks with a Grade 2 oblique strain, a source told ESPN's Jesse Rogers.

Swanson left Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals after hurting himself on a swing-and-miss in the third inning.

The two-time All-Star and two-time Gold Glove winner is hitting .216/.300/.404 with 18 home runs and 66 RBIs in 119 games, while playing some of the best defense in the majors.

Swanson's 16 outs above average ranks fifth among all big-league players for the Cubs, who lead the majors with 86 defensive runs saved.
