The Philadelphia Phillies are acquiring four-time All-Star second baseman Luis Arraez from the San Francisco Giants, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.
Philadelphia also gets reliever Caleb Kilian in exchange for pitching prospects Ramon Marquez and Marty Gair, The Athletic's Jayson Stark reports.
The Phillies add more firepower to their lineup with the addition of three-time batting champion Arraez. He owns a career .318 batting average with 40 home runs and 351 RBIs over the span of eight seasons. He previously spent time with the Minnesota Twins, Miami Marlins, and San Diego Padres before signing with the Giants in February.
The 29-year-old will play second base in Philadelphia, according to The Athletic's Matt Gelb, Andrew Baggarly, and Charlotte Varnes. While Arraez does have experience playing first base from his time with the Padres, he has insisted on remaining at second base.
The trade arrives nearly a week after Phillies star Bryce Harper called for the team to be active ahead of the Aug. 3 trade deadline.
The Phillies own a 59-53 record and are eight games back of the Atlanta Braves in the NL East. Philadelphia is tied for the second NL wild-card spot.
The club could opt to make additional changes to its infield with Arraez now in the fold. Second baseman Bryson Stott could be a candidate to move to third, with Alec Bohm shifting to first and Harper moving to the outfield, sources told Gelb, Baggarly, and Varnes.
This season, Arraez is batting a league-leading .324 to go along with four home runs, 43 RBIs, and an .810 OPS.
Arraez is scheduled to become a free agent after the 2026 campaign.
