The Detroit Tigers will promote top prospect Max Clark to the major-league level, a source told Baseball America's Emily Waldon.
Clark is the No. 1-ranked prospect in the Tigers' farm system and the No. 13 prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline.
Detroit selected Clark with the third overall pick in the 2023 draft. The 21-year-old owns a .276/.368/.434 slash line with 11 home runs, 20 doubles, 42 RBIs, and 21 steals in 90 Triple-A games this season.
All of Clark's defensive reps this season have been in center field, where he's posted a .992 fielding percentage in 767 2/3 innings.
The Tigers have used a variety of players in center field this season, including Matt Vierling, James Outman, Javier Báez, and Parker Meadows. Meadows has been sidelined since April after fracturing his forearm in a collision with teammate Riley Greene.
