The San Francisco Giants could ship out multiple stars on long-term contracts before the Aug. 3 trade deadline.
The Giants are open to offers for first baseman Rafael Devers, shortstop Willy Adames, and third baseman Matt Chapman, according to Buster Olney of ESPN.
Second baseman Luis Arraez and left-hander Robbie Ray are also reportedly on the trade block. Both players can test free agency after the 2026 season.
However, San Francisco is unlikely to find quality deals for Devers and Adames due to their high salaries, and the team has shown no interest in trading ace Logan Webb, a source told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Devers, whom the Giants acquired in a blockbuster trade with the Boston Red Sox in June 2025, is making $27 million this year and is still owed $211 million through 2033. Adames' salary is over $13.1 million in 2026, but he still has $155.7 million left through 2031 after inking a seven-year, $182-million pact in December 2024. Chapman is set to make over $25.1 million per season for the next five years, following his six-year, $151-million extension in September 2024.
Despite owning a $197-million payroll, the Giants entered Monday tied with the Los Angeles Angels and Kansas City Royals for MLB's second-worst record (29-43).
San Francisco's in the midst of its worst campaign since 2017 under first-year manager Tony Vitello.
