Baltimore Orioles third baseman Jordan Westburg underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery, president of baseball operations Mike Elias announced Friday, according to The Baltimore Sun's Matt Weyrich.

Westburg hasn't played this season. During spring training, he was diagnosed with a partially torn UCL in his throwing elbow in addition to an oblique injury.

The 27-year-old was cleared to resume throwing at the beginning of April, but he was shut down May 4 after experiencing renewed discomfort.

Westburg was an integral part of Baltimore's lineup through his first three seasons, slashing .264/.312/.456 with 38 home runs and 127 RBIs in 260 games.

Coby Mayo, Blaze Alexander, and Weston Wilson have shared third-base duties for the Orioles with Westburg sidelined.
