Ohtani's 53-game on-base streak ends
Shohei Ohtani failed to reach base during the Los Angeles Dodgers' 3-0 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, ending his 53-game streak dating back to last season.
Ohtani's on-base run finishes tied with Shawn Green for the second longest in Dodgers history. Duke Snider holds the franchise record at 58 games, set in 1954.
The two-way star finished the game 0-for-4 with one strikeout. While he didn't manage to reach base, Ohtani did throw six shutout innings on the mound, striking out seven. He now owns a sparkling 0.38 ERA this season.
