Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been added to the Dominican Republic's roster for the World Baseball Classic, the nation announced Wednesday.
It will be Guerrero's WBC debut after he withdrew prior to the 2023 event because of knee discomfort.
The 26-year-old is coming off a stellar big-league season where he posted an .848 OPS and received downballot MVP votes.
The Dominican Republic failed to advance out of pool play at the 2023 World Baseball Classic, winning just two of its four games. Manager Albert Pujols leads what's expected to be a loaded roster this year.
