Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner said he'll have an MRI on Monday after leaving Sunday's game with a right hamstring strain, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Scott Lauber.
Turner added he felt a "grabbing" sensation in his hamstring after attempting to leg out a grounder in the seventh inning against the Miami Marlins.
"If I could've kept going, I would've," said Turner, adding he hopes the strain is milder than the one that caused him to miss six weeks in 2024.
The 32-year-old infielder entered Sunday leading the National League in fWAR (6.5). He was 1-for-4 with a home run before exiting the game.
The first-place Phillies are already without ace starter Zack Wheeler, who will miss the remainder of the season after having surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome.
