1. Detroit Tigers
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
46-27 | 5-5 | +80 | 1 (-) |
The Tigers dropped two of three to the Reds over the weekend, but their nine-game lead in the AL Central is the largest in any division. It's only the third series they've lost since the start of May (9-3-1). Detroit could create even more distance ahead of the All-Star break: Nine of its next 15 games are against teams with losing records.
2. Los Angeles Dodgers
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
43-29 | 6-4 | +71 | 3 (+1) |
Shohei Ohtani the pitcher is back. After dominating as a position player once again this season - he's got 25 home runs and a 1.035 OPS in 70 games - Ohtani returns to the mound Monday against the Padres. The three-time MVP last pitched in the majors in 2023.
3. Chicago Cubs
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
44-28 | 5-5 | +105 | 2 (-1) |
The Cubs' normally potent offense is scuffling. Chicago entered June with the best run differential (plus-93) in the NL but ranks 23rd in runs scored this month. Seiya Suzuki, Dansby Swanson, and Nico Hoerner all have an OPS below .700 in June and have combined for 36 strikeouts.
4. San Francisco Giants
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
41-31 | 7-3 | +45 | 9 (+5) |
The Giants stunned the baseball world by trading for Rafael Devers. The three-time All-Star is the type of impact bat San Francisco has been missing for years. Meanwhile, the club's hot pursuit of the Dodgers continues after a recent seven-game win streak.
5. New York Mets
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
45-27 | 6-4 | +80 | 5 (-) |
The Mets followed up their recent six-game win streak with a weekend sweep by the Rays. Juan Soto is finally getting hot: He's gone deep four times with 17 walks and a 1.146 OPS over the last two weeks. David Peterson has allowed just three earned runs over his last 16 innings and will need to be the staff ace with Kodai Senga sidelined.
6. New York Yankees
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
42-28 | 5-5 | +103 | 4 (-2) |

The Yankees dropped five of six games to the Red Sox over the last week and a half, including a three-game sweep this past weekend. Aaron Judge went 1-for-12 and struck out nine times during the series at Fenway Park after looking superhuman all season. At least Devers is no longer in the division.
7. Houston Astros
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
41-30 | 8-2 | +39 | 10 (+3) |
The Astros are rolling thanks to back-to-back walk-off wins and a pitching staff that owns MLB's lowest ERA this month. Josh Hader, Bryan Abreu, and the rest of Houston's bullpen has been extra stingy, authoring a 1.30 ERA with an MLB-best 11.7 K/9 during the run.
8. Philadelphia Phillies
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
42-29 | 5-5 | +33 | 6 (-2) |
Bryce Harper's health is a growing concern. The first baseman missed a few games after being hit by a pitch, then wound up on the injured list with a wrist issue a few days after returning. The Phillies swept the Blue Jays over the weekend, but their lineup isn't the same without him in the middle.
9. Tampa Bay Rays
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
39-32 | 7-3 | +62 | 11 (+2) |
The Rays continued to turn heads with a convincing sweep of the Mets, outscoring the NL powerhouse 24-9 over three games. Junior Caminero's added four more homers and Yandy Díaz has 17 hits over the last two weeks. The only bad news: Shane McClanahan is dealing with a nerve issue.
10. San Diego Padres
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
39-31 | 4-6 | +25 | 7 (-3) |

The Padres' lineup took a significant hit over the weekend when prized outfielder Jackson Merrill went on the concussion IL. Merrill owns the third-highest OPS on the team and is fourth in RBIs despite missing 25 games earlier this season with a different injury.
11. Toronto Blue Jays
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
38-33 | 6-4 | -12 | 16 (+5) |
Bowden Francis has become a serious problem for the Blue Jays. The right-hander completed five innings just once in his last six starts, taxing a bullpen that's already overused. Max Scherzer's long-awaited return to the starting rotation can't come soon enough.
12. Milwaukee Brewers
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
39-34 | 5-5 | +21 | 14 (+2) |
The Brewers' pitching depth allowed the club to trade Aaron Civale to the White Sox for Andrew Vaughn, who's still young enough to get his once-promising career back on track. Jacob Misiorowski could be a major X-factor in the second half of the season after throwing five no-hit innings in his MLB debut.
13. St. Louis Cardinals
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
37-35 | 3-7 | +18 | 8 (-5) |
The Cardinals are in a funk. They've dropped 10 of 14 in June, which includes a six-game losing streak. Not having their best hitter, Brendan Donovan, for a handful of games was tough, but the rotation and its 6.09 ERA deserve most of the blame. Erick Fedde is the only St. Louis starter with an ERA under five this month.
14. Arizona Diamondbacks
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
36-35 | 6-4 | -5 | 18 (+4) |
Corbin Burnes and Justin Martinez both need Tommy John surgery, representing big blows to a team with playoff aspirations, but the D-Backs responded by winning six of seven. The offense is on fire - Arizona scored the second-most runs in the majors over the last week.
15. Texas Rangers
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
36-36 | 7-3 | +27 | 21 (+6) |

The Rangers battled back to .500 because their offense is cooking. Marcus Semien is slashing .354/.418/.667 this month after entering June as one of the worst hitters in baseball, while Evan Carter's slugged a ridiculous .774 and is carrying a 244 wRC+.
16. Cincinnati Reds
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
37-35 | 7-3 | +41 | 22 (+6) |
What's up with Matt McLain? The Reds have been playing solid baseball recently, but the second-year infielder looks lost at the plate. He's slashing .191/.284/.323 after putting up an .864 OPS (127 OPS+) with 16 home runs in just 89 games last year. More production from him would provide a huge boost for a middle-of-the-pack Cincinnati offense.
17. Boston Red Sox
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
37-36 | 8-2 | +22 | 19 (+2) |
Just when the Red Sox appeared to be snapping out of their malaise by winning six of seven and sweeping the Yankees, the club traded its best hitter in Devers. It's a shocking move by a team that was eager to contend this season, and it's another puzzling decision by an organization that seems to enjoy upsetting its fans.
18. Minnesota Twins
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
36-35 | 2-8 | +7 | 12 (-6) |
The Twins tumbled down the rankings after losing eight of 10 games, including a weekend sweep by the Astros. Minnesota's been hampered by key injuries: Top starter Pablo López will miss 8-12 weeks with a shoulder strain, while the oft-injured Royce Lewis suffered another hamstring strain.
19. Seattle Mariners
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
36-34 | 4-6 | -2 | 13 (-6) |
Logan Gilbert's return Monday should be a massive boon for the Mariners, who had lost eight of 10 before sweeping the Guardians over the weekend. The right-hander was one of the best pitchers in baseball last season and was off to an incredible start in 2025 before a flexor strain in his elbow shelved him for nearly two months.
20. Cleveland Guardians
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
35-35 | 2-8 | -26 | 15 (-5) |
The Guardians haven't won a series this month, which is largely down to their offense. Cleveland's 39 runs in June are the second fewest in the majors, while the club's .224 average ranks 27th. Pitching continues to keep the Guardians around .500, but someone in the lineup besides José Ramírez needs to get going.
21. Kansas City Royals
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
34-38 | 2-8 | -28 | 17 (-4) |

A players-only meeting wasn't enough to snap the Royals out of their slump. They've lost six straight, including a three-game sweep by the AL West's basement-dwelling Athletics. Jac Caglianone's arrival was supposed to inject some badly needed thump into the lineup. However, the top prospect is 10-for-47 with zero homers in 12 games.
22. Atlanta Braves
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
31-39 | 4-6 | +12 | 20 (-2) |
The returns of Ronald Acuña Jr. and Spencer Strider were expected to be a shot in the arm for the Braves. Instead, they're 7-14 over their last 21 games and started June with their second seven-game losing streak of the season. Acuña has been excellent, however, and Strider racked up 13 strikeouts in his most recent start against the Rockies.
23. Baltimore Orioles
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
30-40 | 6-4 | -73 | 24 (+1) |
Zach Eflin's righted the ship after some struggles earlier in the season. The veteran right-hander has recorded three straight quality starts, highlighted by a 6 2/3 inning gem against the Tigers in his last outing. He's set for free agency at season's end and could be a hot commodity at the trade deadline.
24. Los Angeles Angels
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
33-37 | 5-5 | -62 | 25 (+1) |
The Angels continued their recent practice of fast-tracking prospects, promoting Christian Moore to the major leagues. The eighth overall pick in the 2024 draft got a grand total of 348 plate appearances in the minors before making his MLB debut Friday. He's gone hitless in his first six plate appearances.
25. Pittsburgh Pirates
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
29-44 | 6-4 | -54 | 26 (+1) |

What does Paul Skenes need to do to get a win? The Pirates ace allowed one earned run with four walks and 20 strikeouts over his last 20 2/3 innings (three starts) but is 0-1 for his efforts after Pittsburgh scored a combined four runs in those games.
26. Washington Nationals
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
30-41 | 1-9 | -63 | 23 (-3) |
Washington's veteran hitters have been letting the club down - chief among them Josh Bell, who's been worth minus-0.8 fWAR with a .613 OPS (75 OPS+). He'll probably get traded to a contender in July and play better, as seemingly happens every year, but he isn't doing himself any favors right now.
27. Miami Marlins
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
28-41 | 5-5 | -88 | 27 (-) |
Sandy Alcantara is finally showing signs of turning things around after a nightmare start to his season. He allowed two earned runs across his last two outings (albeit against the Rockies and Pirates) while issuing two walks compared to 10 strikeouts. He'd handed out at least two free passes in each of his previous four starts before this stretch.
28. Chicago White Sox
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
23-49 | 4-6 | -62 | 28 (-) |
Shane Smith is making a strong case to be the White Sox representative at the All-Star Game. The Rule 5 pick owns a 2.37 ERA with just four homers allowed in 68 1/3 innings. He's been especially good in June: He's allowed one earned run in two starts, with both outings resulting in wins for Chicago.
29. Athletics
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
29-44 | 6-4 | -113 | 29 (-) |
Jacob Wilson might already have AL Rookie of the Year locked up amid a disappointing season for the Athletics. He's slashing an absurd .468/.469/.596 over his last 11 games thanks to 22 hits. His .367 batting average only trails Aaron Judge among all qualified hitters in MLB.
30. Colorado Rockies
Record | Last 10 | RD | Previous rank |
---|---|---|---|
14-57 | 3-7 | -203 | 30 (-) |
These awful Rockies finally gave their fans something to celebrate with their first walk-off win of the season Thursday against the Giants. Recent acquisition Orlando Arcia delivered the game-winning hit. Hopefully Colorado does the right thing and trades him to a winning team this summer.
