Gaudin (carpal tunnel syndrome) is doubtful to return this season, MLB.com reports.
Gaudin has been sidelined since Aug. 16 with carpal tunnel syndrome, and with the right-hander progressing slowly in his recovery, it makes sense for the Giants to shut him down at this point. He could be the in the mix for a starting job during spring training.
