Miami Marlins outfielder Dane Myers let his emotions get the better of him, and it'll cost him significant time.
The Marlins announced that Myers fractured his left ankle when he kicked a clubhouse door moments after being ejected from Saturday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. He had a fiery exchange with the home plate umpire over a check-swing call just before the incident.

Myers is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks, according to Craig Mish of SportsGrid. He also told reporters that he'll visit a foot specialist next week.
The 28-year-old acknowledged that he needs to work on controlling his emotions on the field.
"It's tough (to control myself), but it's something you gotta do as a pro," Myers said Sunday, according to Bally Sports Florida. "I think that's the last missing piece in my game, kind of being even-keeled, staying level-headed, and not really letting the emotions take over and losing myself like I did."
Originally a sixth-round selection of the Detroit Tigers in 2017, Myers joined the Marlins organization in 2022 and made his big-league debut last year. He owns a .265/.337/.422 line with two homers, 14 RBIs, and four stolen bases in 40 big-league games this season.
