The Pittsburgh Pirates optioned outfielder Jack Suwinski to Triple-A, the club announced Thursday.
Suwinski slashed .174/.268/.297 with four homers, 13 RBIs, and five stolen bases over 49 games this season.
The 25-year-old was expected to be a key piece of the Pirates in 2024 after going deep 26 times with 74 RBIs, 13 steals, and a 115 OPS+ across 144 contests last year.
Pittsburgh recalled left-hander Jose Hernandez to take Suwinski's place on the active roster.
