The Philadelphia Phillies and reliever Matt Strahm agreed to a contract extension through 2025 with a club/vesting option for 2026, the team announced Sunday.

The deal is worth $7.5 million in 2025 and $7.5 million in 2026 if he pitches 60 innings next season, a source told Robert Murray of FanSided.

Strahm was set to become a free agent after the 2024 campaign. He'll make $7.5 million this season after originally joining Philadelphia on a two-year, $15-million pact in December 2022.

The 32-year-old left-hander was a valuable swingman in 2023, amassing a 3.29 ERA with 1.01 WHIP and 108 strikeouts over 87 2/3 innings (10 starts) during a career year.

Meanwhile, the Phillies also announced that veteran outfielder Jake Cave was traded to the Colorado Rockies for cash considerations.

Cave, 31, collected five homers and 21 RBIs with a .620 OPS over 65 games as a bench player last season.
