Jackson Chourio has made the Milwaukee Brewers' Opening Day roster, sources told Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
MLB's No. 2-ranked prospect reportedly earned his spot on the club after recording 14 hits and eight runs scored in 14 spring games. He also struck out 11 times.
The 20-year-old outfielder will become the youngest player since Robin Yount to make his major-league debut for Milwaukee on Opening Day. Yount was 18 when he debuted for the Brewers on Opening Day in 1974.
Chourio could also become the third-youngest player to begin a game in center field on Opening Day since 1900 if he's in the Brewers' starting lineup, Hogg reports.
The Venezuelan signed an eight-year, $82-million extension in December, the largest deal given to a player who hadn't appeared in a big-league game.
