The San Francisco Giants made a one-year, $14-million offer to J.D. Martinez, but the free-agent slugger rejected it, sources told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.

Martinez turned down the offer because he's seeking at least $20 million, Feinsand adds.

The offer came before the Giants inked a different right-handed power hitter, Jorge Soler, to a three-year, $42-million contract on Feb. 13.

Martinez is coming off a strong campaign with the Los Angeles Dodgers, hitting 33 home runs with 103 RBIs and an .893 OPS. The 36-year-old earned $10 million on a one-year deal.

The Miami native remains a free agent along with other top players like reigning NL Cy Young winner Blake Snell and four-time Gold Glover Matt Chapman.

Martinez has also drawn interest from the Los Angeles Angels and New York Mets this offseason.
