The Tampa Bay Rays agreed to trade right-hander Tyler Glasnow and outfielder Manuel Margot to the Los Angeles Dodgers for right-hander Ryan Pepiot and outfielder Jonny Deluca, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.

The deal is reportedly contingent on Glasnow signing a contract extension with the Dodgers. The pitcher's extension window opened on Thursday morning, and there's a strong belief from the parties involved that a deal will get done, sources told Passan.

Los Angeles will also receive $4 million in cash to help cover the cost of Glasnow's and Margot's contracts, according to the Tampa Bay Times' Marc Topkin. Glasnow is owed $25 million in 2024, while Margot is set to earn $10 million.

Glasnow and Margot are currently eligible to test free agency following the 2024 campaign.

The 30-year-old Glasnow made 21 starts for the Rays last season, authoring a 3.53 ERA and 12.2 K/9 in 120 innings. It was the most starts he's made in a season since returning from 2021 Tommy John surgery.

Glasnow has been one of baseball's elite pitchers when healthy since joining the Rays. He owned a 27-16 record with a 3.20 ERA, 3.10 FIP, and 12.2 K/9 in 71 career starts for Tampa Bay after it acquired him in a trade from the Pittsburgh Pirates during the 2018 season.

Margot is a glove-first outfielder who posted a .686 OPS in 99 games with the Rays last season. He posted minus-3 defensive runs saved in 2023 but is only two years removed from amassing 13 defensive runs saved and 12 outs above average as a member of the Rays' outfield.

He's spent the past four campaigns in Tampa Bay after beginning his career with the San Diego Padres.

Pepiot was solid in limited duty during his sophomore campaign in the bigs. The 26-year-old posted a 2.14 ERA and 0.76 WHIP in 42 innings of work. Three of his eight appearances last season were starts.

He's under club control until the end of the 2028 season and isn't arbitration-eligible for the first time until 2026.

Deluca made his big-league debut in 2023, slashing .262/.311/.429 with two homers and six RBIs in 24 games. The 25-year-old spent most of last season in the minors, where he posted a .956 OPS with 17 homers across two levels.

The reported deal comes hours after the Dodgers introduced Shohei Ohtani at a press conference after inking him to a 10-year contract, reportedly worth $700 million.
