The San Francisco Giants were awarded the 2028 All-Star Game, MLB announced Friday.
The Giants will host their fourth Midsummer Classic and first since 2007. The Home Run Derby and Futures Game will also take place at Oracle Park, and San Francisco will host the MLB draft as well.
"With its passionate fan base, world-class ballpark, and rich baseball history, San Francisco will be an outstanding host for All-Star week, which culminates in one of Major League Baseball's best traditions, the Midsummer Classic," MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement. "We look forward to bringing the excitement of All-Star week and the celebration of baseball to the Bay Area."
MLB is planning for major leaguers to play in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. However, the league, MLBPA, and event organizers haven't been able to finalize an agreement yet. The baseball tournament would start two days after the All-Star Game in San Francisco.
The Chicago Cubs will host the 2027 All-Star Game at Wrigley Field.
