Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is considered day-to-day after an MRI revealed right knee inflammation, manager John Schneider said Thursday, according to Sportsnet's Shi Davidi.

No structural damage was found in Guerrero's knee, Schneider added.

Guerrero was removed for a pinch runner in Tuesday's series opener against the New York Yankees as he appeared to be in some pain.

The 24-year-old did not play Wednesday after he was removed from the starting lineup with right knee discomfort.

Guerrero, who owns a .264/.342/.440 slash line with 24 home runs and 90 RBIs, could be available off the bench for Thursday's series finale against the Yankees, according to Schneider.

The Blue Jays enter Thursday in the American League's second wild-card position with 10 games remaining.
