Olson passes Andruw Jones for Braves' single-season HR record with No. 52

Matt Olson is the new single-season home run king for the Atlanta Braves.
The star first baseman passed five-time All-Star Andruw Jones for the record with his 52nd homer of the 2023 campaign during the sixth inning of Saturday's contest with the Miami Marlins. The moonshot solo dinger tied the game at 5-5.

Jones, who spent 12 years with the Braves and hit 51 homers in 2005, congratulated Olson on the achievement:

Olson is in the midst of a career year, hitting .281/.388/.618 with 129 RBIs along with his 52 round-trippers.
