Japan's Yamamoto throws no-hitter in front of execs from 15 MLB teams
Japanese pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto had the performance of a lifetime on Saturday, and he did it with executives from 15 MLB teams in attendance.
The Orix Buffaloes right-hander threw a no-hitter against the Lotte Marines while New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman watched from the stands, according to Newsday's Erik Boland.
The Toronto Blue Jays, Philadelphia Phillies, Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants were also in attendance, according to Boland.
It was the second no-hitter thrown by the 25-year-old starter, who is expected to be posted to MLB teams this offseason.
Yamamoto has been sensational in Japan, authoring a 68-28 record with a 1.84 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in 876 Nippon Professional Baseball innings.
