The San Francisco Giants remain in touch with free-agent shortstop Carlos Correa, even after the two sides failed to complete a deal, said president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi, according to MLB.com's Maria I. Guardado.

Despite the sides keeping contact, Zaidi said Correa is "focused on a deal elsewhere at this point," per Guardado.

The Giants and Correa reportedly agreed to a 13-year, $350-million pact on Dec. 13. However, San Francisco canceled the All-Star's introductory press conference and later reneged on the deal after a concern arose during the infielder's physical.

Correa then agreed to join the New York Mets on a 12-year, $315-million deal, but the two sides haven't finalized a contract because of a similar concern. The Mets and Correa are reportedly trying to work through the differences.

Both the Giants and Mets apparently took issue with Correa's lower right leg, which was surgically repaired in 2014 after he fractured his fibula during a minor-league game.

The two-time All-Star hit .291/.366/.467 with 22 home runs and 64 RBIs in 136 games for the Minnesota Twins last season.

The Twins reportedly offered Correa a 10-year deal close to $285 million before the Giants agreement.
