The Los Angeles Dodgers and designated hitter J.D. Martinez agreed to a one-year, $10-million contract, sources told Jeff Passan of ESPN.
The J.D. Martinez deal with the Dodgers reunites him with hitting coach Robert Von Scoyoc, who was wildly influential in his ascent, as well as his former Boston Red Sox teammate Mookie Betts. Dodgers targeted Martinez early in free agency. First on agreement was @ByRobertMurray.

Martinez spent the last five seasons with the Boston Red Sox, earning four All-Star appearances and winning the 2018 World Series title.
The 35-year-old slugger went deep just 16 times with a .790 OPS over 139 games during a down year in 2022, but he still recorded 43 doubles.
Martinez, who owns a career .872 OPS, should help the Dodgers offensively after the departures of Trea Turner, Justin Turner, and Cody Bellinger.
Los Angeles also landed right-hander Noah Syndergaard on Wednesday.
