Ten minutes after sending the initial alert, U.S. Capitol Police announced "the Capitol was evacuated out of an abundance of caution," and there was "no threat."
The U.S. Capitol Police sent the initial evacuation alert after tracking an aircraft that wasn't responding to communication, according to Heather Caygle of Punchbowl News.
So, in conclusion, a poorly coordinated pregame parachute-drop into Nationals Park caused an urgent evacuation of the U.S. Capitol complex and about 15 minutes of utter panic in Washington. https://t.co/O5sicdZjnn
