The Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins, and San Francisco Giants are among the clubs chasing reigning AL Cy Young winner Robbie Ray in free agency, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

Another team to watch is the Texas Rangers, who have been very aggressive this offseason, notes Sherman. The club reportedly landed Marcus Semien, Jon Gray, and Kole Calhoun on Sunday.

However, Ray is not close to making a decision because he hasn't met with the Los Angeles Angels yet, reports Jon Morosi of MLB Network. The Angels are rumored to be a top suitor for the left-hander.

Ray led the AL in ERA (2.84), innings pitched (193 1/3 innings), and WHIP (1.04) last season. The 30-year-old also recorded an MLB-best 248 strikeouts.

The Tigers already signed left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez to a multi-year contract, while the Giants are looking to replace All-Star Kevin Gausman after he reportedly joined the Toronto Blue Jays. The Twins are a surprising candidate for Ray, given that a poor 2021 campaign led to them dealing multiple players at the trade deadline.
