The Cincinnati Reds are open to trading right-hander Luis Castillo, who's drawing interest from teams around the majors, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network.
Cincinnati already waived left-hander Wade Miley and traded catcher Tucker Barnhart after management said the payroll would be lower next season. The two would've made a combined $17.75 million in 2022 if the team picked up their options.
Castillo is projected to make around $7.5 million through arbitration next year and can test free agency after 2023.
The 28-year-old amassed a 3.98 ERA with 192 strikeouts over 187 2/3 innings (33 starts) for the Reds in 2021. The 2019 All-Star owns a career 9.8 K/9 over five years in the majors.
