The San Diego Padres spoke with former World Series-winning skipper Ozzie Guillen about managing the club, sources told Dennis Lin and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
The interview reportedly took place last week.
Guillen hasn't managed in the majors since his stint with the Miami Marlins in 2012. The 57-year-old spent eight seasons with the Chicago White Sox from 2004-11, which included a championship in 2005.
The Padres have also reportedly met with former St. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Shildt and ex-New York Mets skipper Luis Rojas.
San Diego fired Jayce Tingler earlier this month after missing the playoffs. Many expected the team to challenge for a World Series in 2021.
