The chaotic American League wild-card race hasn't disappointed during an amazing final day of the 2021 MLB season.
Here's a look at the results so far and what it all means for the postseason race.
Red Sox 7, Nationals 5
Rafael Devers sent the Red Sox into the wild-card game with a two-run ninth-inning homer off Washington reliever Kyle Finnegan. They'll host the game at Fenway Park.
Yankees 1, Rays 0
Aaron Judge ended a tense affair in the Bronx with a walk-off single to beat the Tampa Bay Rays 1-0 and send the Yankees into the playoffs. Because Boston won, the Yankees will be on the road for Tuesday's wild-card game against their archrivals.
Blue Jays 12, Orioles 4
The Toronto Blue Jays did everything in their power to stay alive. Needing a victory just to have hope of playing in a tiebreaker, Toronto pummeled the hapless Baltimore Orioles at Rogers Centre. George Springer hit two homers, including a grand slam. But 91 wins wasn't enough after Boston's comeback victory.
Angels 7, Mariners 3
The Mariners were already losing to the Los Angeles Angels when Boston won. They then dropped their season finale to the Halos 7-3. Seattle's postseason drought is now at 20 years, the longest active drought in all the major North American sports leagues.
