The New York Yankees' roster has taken yet another hit ahead of their second-half opener.
New York first baseman Luke Voit has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a left knee bone bruise, the team announced.
Voit, who has played just 29 games this year due to a variety of injuries, will receive a lubricating injection in his knee, and he may also need platelet-rich plasma therapy, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. There's no timetable for his return.
The slugger is the latest loss for a Yankees club reeling from both injuries and a COVID-19 outbreak.
In addition to their many players on the regular injured list, six players - including All-Star outfielder Aaron Judge - are now in the health and safety protocols. Boone confirmed that all six have contracted COVID-19.
None of the COVID-19 positive Yankees are exhibiting severe symptoms, according to Aaron Boone. He said that a few have said they feel like they have a cold or do not feel well.

The squad's roster will look quite different when the Yankees face the Boston Red Sox on Friday night. Second baseman Hoy Park, first baseman Chris Gittens, outfielder Greg Allen, and catcher Rob Brantly were called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. They'll join outfield prospect Trey Amburgey, who was summoned from Triple-A on Thursday.
Amburgey will make his big-league debut in right field on Friday, and Gittens will replace Voit at first base. Tyler Wade will join Allen, Park, and Brantly on the bench.

The Yankees enter the second half tied with Toronto for third in the AL East, and they're eight games back of the division-leading Red Sox.
