Tampa Bay Rays pitching prospect Tyler Zombro is slowly improving from major brain surgery after being hit in the head with a line drive during a Triple-A game in early June.
"Thank you again to the entire baseball community for the support, I'm one lucky guy and can't wait to get back out there (whenever that is)," Zombro wrote Thursday on Twitter.
Zombro needed more than a dozen plates inserted into his head following the incident, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

The 26-year-old is now walking and undergoing speech therapy.

Zombro was released from the hospital June 9 after a week in care, according to Topkin.
