The Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Houston Astros, Baltimore Orioles, and Miami Marlins each have interest in signing free-agent outfielder Yasiel Puig, sources told Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.

Boston, Houston, and Baltimore were previously linked to the 30-year-old in November.

A former All-Star with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Puig didn't play in the majors in 2020. He reportedly reached an agreement with the Atlanta Braves last July, but the deal fell through when he tested positive for COVID-19.

Puig split the 2019 season between the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians. He hit .267/.327/.458 with 24 home runs and 84 RBIs in 149 games but saw his power stroke evaporate after being dealt to Cleveland at the trade deadline; he hit two homers in his last 49 contests.

In late December, Puig said he was looking to improve his image, work more openly with his coaches at the major-league level, and ditch bad habits that crept into his game.

Puig has been playing for Toros del Este of the Dominican Winter League.
