The Houston Astros placed Roberto Osuna on outright waivers, sources told Jake Kaplan of The Athletic.
Osuna, who only made four appearances in 2020 due to an elbow injury, was expected to make $10 million next season through arbitration, Kaplan notes.
The former All-Star closer can become a free agent if he clears waivers.
The 25-year-old owns a career 2.74 ERA with 155 saves over six seasons while pitching for the Astros and Toronto Blue Jays.
