The San Diego Padres are getting some major reinforcements with the playoffs less than two weeks away.

Outfielder Tommy Pham was reinstated off the injured list, the Padres announced Friday. He will hit sixth against the Seattle Mariners.

Meanwhile, first baseman Eric Hosmer is expected to return this weekend or shortly thereafter, manager Jayce Tingler said Friday, according to Dennis Lin of The Athletic.

Hosmer fractured his left index finger during a game on Sept. 8. He was originally expected to miss anywhere from two-to-six weeks as a result of the injury. Pham has been out since mid-August after undergoing surgery on the hamate bone in his left hand.

Pham owns a career .834 OPS while Hosmer has hit eight home runs with 32 RBIs in 31 games for the Padres this season.

San Diego optioned outfielder Jorge Ona to make room for Pham on the active roster.
