Cardinals to play 11 doubleheaders in modified MLB schedule
Major League Baseball altered the 2020 schedule after clearing the St. Louis Cardinals to play for the first time since July 29 following a COVID-19 outbreak, the league announced Friday.
MLB said the Cardinals have a doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox on Saturday after Friday's game was postponed. St. Louis also has three doubleheaders scheduled against the Chicago Cubs and two against the Pittsburgh Pirates, with two separate ones against the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers for contests the teams weren't able to play.
The Cardinals, who've taken part in just gives five games so far, will play 21 in August and 32 in September for a total of 58. St. Louis now has at least 11 doubleheaders scheduled for the remainder of the campaign.
