With the 26th pick in the 2020 MLB Draft, the Oakland Athletics selected Tyler Soderstrom, a catcher out of Turlock High School in California.
Soderstrom is lauded for his potent bat and can also play some infield positions when not behind the plate. His father, Steve Soderstrom, was selected sixth overall by the San Francisco Giants in 1993 and briefly pitched in the majors.
Shortly after he was drafted, Soderstrom reached an over-slot deal with Oakland, reports Baseball America's Kyle Glaser.
