Bauer took to Twitter Wednesday to accuse the famous baseball agent of "meddling" in the union's negotiations with MLB regarding the 2020 season.
While specifying that he's only been hearing rumors, Bauer harshly rebuked Boras, who's also known for never being shy with his opinion.
MLB and the union have been at odds in recent weeks during negotiations to arrange a shortened season. Things appeared to reach a head Tuesday when a report suggested the MLBPA is very disappointed with the league's economic proposal. Earlier in negotiations, the players also rejected a 50-50 revenue split.
Boras, who negotiated over $1 billion in contract value for his star clients this past winter, has often opined during the pandemic about the state of baseball. Since the league shut down in March, he's proposed his own "functional isolation" plan to save the 2020 season, and also claimed his clients are willing to isolate themselves from families in order to play.
Rachel Luba of Luba Sports currently represents Bauer. The 29-year-old previously declared he intends to only sign one-year contracts for the rest of his career.
His comment toward Boras comes only a few weeks after publicly criticizing commissioner Rob Manfred's revenue-sharing proposal.
