A 23-year-old Pedro Martinez became just the second hurler in MLB history to lose a perfect game in extra innings after throwing a masterpiece against the San Diego Padres on June 3, 1995.

No starting pitcher has taken a perfect game into extras since the then-Montreal Expos right-hander did it. Martinez, now a Hall of Famer, shockingly only threw 96 pitches during the whole contest.
