The 2001 Seattle Mariners bullied their way through the American League en route to winning a record-tying 116 games. They nearly won 117 - if not for one magical night in Cleveland.
On Aug. 5, 2001, the 80-30 Mariners flexed their muscles by jumping out to a 12-0 lead on the Indians after three innings, and were ahead 14-2 through five. That's when the Indians woke up and slowly started chipping away, eventually turning a blowout into an 11-inning thriller that stands as one of the greatest comebacks in baseball history.
